WELCOME TO HEALTH SERVICE

Our mission is to provide the highest quality health care with dignity and compassion.

Care at Bard College Student Health Service is based on a holistic approach to treating student. Our goal is to promote optimum physical, emotional, intellectual and social well being through education, preventative and episodic care.
We believe that health care is a partnership between the student and the health care provider.

Our goals:

To promote the idea that health care is a partnership between the student and the health care provider.
To promote optimal physical, emotional, intellectual, and social well being through preventive and primary care.
To promote a holistic and integrative approach to student health care.
To provide health education to the student and the Bard community. To advocate for students with regard to health care issues.

Confidentiality
 

The Health Service staff abides by professional, ethical and mandated standards of confidentiality regarding protected health information for those who seek care. When you come to the Health Service for an appointment, the Health Service will not share protected information about your health with family members, faculty, or staff.

The exception to medical confidentiality is a situation that is assessed to be a grave danger to the health and safety of the student or others. In that event, no more than necessary
information would be released.Health Service visits are not entered on your official college record. 

Student health records are maintained in accordance with professional and legal guidelines. Protected health information is kept in locked files in the Student Health Service offices or in secure third party data centers that meet the highest data security standards.
